Last week Mr. Johns was working with his students on the Commutative Property of Addition to show two different ways to use the same addends that have the same total. His students are learning each and every day and we are so proud of them.

We want to give a big shout out to Mrs. Fleming's 1st grade class for reaching or second level attendance incentive for this school year. The class has had perfect attendance 11 days so far this school year and have spelled HOMERUN. The class received a spinner baseball/ softball as their recognition. We are very proud of you all.

🎶☕ Celebrating Dolly Parton’s 9/25 Day! 📚💗
Today, we celebrated around Jenkins Elementary with a little Dolly Parton inspiration! Our staff enjoyed a “Cup of Ambition” as we took time to celebrate Dolly’s incredible spirit, love of learning, and the lessons she has shared with generations.
We also had the opportunity to read Dolly’s beloved book, Coat of Many Colors, and discovered three important life lessons:
🌟 1. Find your talent and use it to make life better for yourself and others.
We all have gifts and talents. When we discover them and use them to help others, we can make a difference in the world around us.
💗 2. People can sometimes be mean, but you don't have to be mean back.
We can stand up for ourselves, hold on to our values, and respond with kindness and character—even when others don't.
🧥 3. Having money doesn't necessarily mean you are rich.
True richness isn't measured by what we have. It can be found in family, love, kindness, gratitude, and the people who make our lives meaningful.
What a wonderful reminder that some of life’s greatest lessons don't come from having more—they come from who we are, how we treat others, and what we choose to do with the gifts we've been given.

Today is talk about it Thursday at Jenkins. Students have an opportunity to share about a book that they are reading over the intercom on the morning announcements. Today Brooklyn shared about, A Land Remembered, by Patrick D. Smith, and she did a fantastic job.
