Please don't forget that the Progress Reports for the last 9-week grading period go home tomorrow, Tuesday, April 30th! Parents/guardians, please review the grades with students. They have very little time to recover any grades that need improvement, so please encourage them to get with their teachers and get their assignments completed NOW.
You may also reach out to teachers through Rooms/Thrillshare with any questions you have, or call to schedule a conference if needed.
Thanks for your continued support! 😁

Please don't forget the Cambridge General Paper I Test is tomorrow, Thursday, April 25th! (This test is for students in Mrs. Bogden's General Paper classes.)
*Students should report directly to the Price Middle School campus for testing by 8:30am; if they must ride a bus, buses are usually here in time for them to walk over as long as they go straight there upon arrival. Please remind students to go there quickly upon arrival so they are not late! Cambridge tests have NO RETAKES, so they must be present to test.
*Students must not have any electronic devices on their persons. This means no cell phones, smart/digital watches, etc. Please be sure these can be put away safely with student belongings prior to the test OR simply do not wear/bring them to school on test day.
*When taking a Cambridge test, students cannot have food or drinks with any lettering on them. If they need to bring a water bottle, it must have the label/wrapper removed.
As always, please encourage students to get good rest the night before each test, lay out their clothes ahead of time so they are not rushed, and have a healthy breakfast before coming to school.
Good luck students!

Interlachen Junior-Senior High School JROTC Cadets Pay Respect to Robert Jenkins Jr (Medal of Honor Recipient) at Sister Springs Cemetery on 13 April 2024:
As family and friends of United States Marine PFC Robert Jenkins, Vietnam Medal of Honor Recipient look on, the Interlachen JROTC Cadets spent their Saturday on April 13, 2024 conducting much needed maintenance at Sister Springs Cemetery in Interlachen, Florida. Interlachen native and national hero, PFC Robert Jenkins, sacrificed his life in a heroic action on March 5, 1969 while serving on a reconnaissance mission in Vietnam. For his actions, PFC Jenkins received the Congressional Medal of Honor and was buried in his hometown cemetery. Interlachen JROTC Cadets spent the day leveling headstones, landscaping the cemetery, replacing American Flags and honoring all military veterans and their families buried in the cemetery. The JROTC Cadet Battalion Commander, C/LTC Michael Taylor said, "These are the things I will miss most when I graduate this year; being able to serve our community and honor our military veterans has been very rewarding the last four years." The day ended with all the cadets honoring PFC Robert Jenkins by replacing the United States flags at his gravesite, reading his Medal of Honor citation, and meeting family members and members from his reconnaissance platoon from Vietnam.
We couldn't be more proud of these students!

What a wonderful time we had meeting our next year's Rams at the Rising Ram Rally! (If you forgot to send your sellfies last night, please send them to tthornton@my.putnamschools.org, and we will add them to this post!)
Upon arriving last night, students received a ticket for door prizes and a passport to get stamped/signed at any 6 of the many booths set up in the gym. Families then traveled to the booths learning about Apptegy/Rooms and checked their personal accounts, learned about the electives and clubs we offer at IJSHS, received information about community resources, and much more!
The completed passport enabled them to receive a free grilled hotdog (thanks to Kiwanas Club) and a discounted treat from Interlachen Nutrition. Kona Ice was available outside along with the selfie station set up by Sign Gypsies that said, "Rams on the Rise 2024".
Sepcial thanks also to the following local businesses who also made last night successful by donating to our door prizes for students:
True Grits who donated gift certificates, Galactik Nutrition who donated gift cards, Kona Ice of Hawthorne who donated Kona cups and gift certificates, IJSHS Cheer Department and IJSHS Athletics who donated all sorts of Ram merchandise including t-shirts, koozies, mini gym bags, clappers, water bottles and more! The students were thrilled to receive these items, and we cannot thank you enough for being a local business partner with us!
We hope everyone will frequent these amazing businesses who not only provide a service to our little town but also generously support the youth at our school! THANK YOU!

Here are just a few of the awesome booths with information and goodies offered to our families and students at the Rising Ram Rally last night at IJSHS! Thank you to everyone who participated and volunteered their time to be here! We appreciate you! <3
And a huge special shoutout to Mrs. Brittani Phillips, our Junior High counselor, who organized this awesome event!

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.
This year we invite all students from 3rd to 12th grade to participate in our poster contest. There will be awards for winners in both the elementary and secondary age groups.
Our theme this year is Mental Resiliency – “Show us How You Bounce Back from Stress.”
All posters must be completed and turned in to your guidance counselor by April 30th, 2024, and awards will be given to our winners in May. We would love to see as many posters as possible this year, so get your art supplies out and show us how you “Bounce Back.”
We are also asking that everyone wear green on each Monday in May, to show our support for Mental Health Awareness. The only way we can stop the stigma is to work together!
