"As Superintendent of the Putnam County School District, I want to take a moment to express how appreciative I am to our students, employees, and families for how everyone has adapted to the many changes we implemented in order to return to school in August. Even in the midst of unknowns and fears, these on-going changes have been embraced in order to provide safe, happy learning environments for our students.
Our teachers have been so creative and our students are thriving!
When I walk into our schools, it is evident that we are no longer doing things the way we did just a few months ago. Masks, one-way hallways, classroom seating arrangements, signs over water fountains, sanitizer stations, and students walking in lines spaced apart are just a few examples of the way education looks today.
Although this is a new normal, our schools provide comforting classrooms with teachers and staff who care about each and every Putnam student. We are a community where students learn and thrive in nurturing environments.
Let’s take a look at some of our hallways, classrooms and cafeterias to give you an inside perspective of what we like to call our New Normal."
