The Annual Take Stock in Children Mentor Recognition event was a celebration of dedication, mentorship, and commitment to student success. Among this year’s honorees were several outstanding mentors from each of Putnam County School District’s (PCSD) Jr.-Sr. High Schools, along with the prestigious Mentor of the Year award.

TSIC PCSDEach of these individuals has gone above and beyond in their mentorship, making a lasting impact on the students they support:

  • Q.I. Roberts Jr.-Sr. High School: Lynn Roberson

TSIC PCSDTSIC PCSDThis year’s Mentor of the Year award was presented to Latina Hardy of Crescent City Jr.-Sr. High School. She has been an instrumental part of the Take Stock in Children (TSIC) program for nearly four years. Her unwavering commitment to students, engagement in program activities, and passion for mentorship have played a key role in revitalizing PCSD’s TSIC program. She consistently shows up, supports her mentees, and promotes the program with enthusiasm and pride.

The Education Foundation of Putnam County was honored as the Community Partner of the Year for its dedication to supporting Take Stock in Children. Their contributions help ensure that students have access to invaluable mentorship opportunities and scholarships that pave the way for their future success.

Thanks to these devoted mentors, PCSD students have the opportunity to earn a 60-credit Florida Prepaid Scholarship, guaranteeing them a post-secondary education. This year, 21 TSIC seniors will graduate and embark on the next steps of their educational journeys, equipped with the guidance and support of their dedicated mentors.

We are incredibly grateful for the impact these mentors and community partners have on our students and look forward to seeing the continued success of the Take Stock in Children program!
