Dear PCSD Families:
As we complete this school year, we want to inform families of changes concerning transportation for the 2021-22 school year. Florida Statute 1011.68 provides funding for transportation of students living two miles or more from their school. We strive to accommodate all of our families and have transported students who live within two miles of their school when possible.
Due to funding and an ongoing shortage of workforce in our transportation department, families who live within two miles of the school will be expected to provide transportation for their child beginning with the 2021-22 school year. Please note: this may not impact current transportation plans provided to students served through the ESE Department.
We anticipate adjustments in many of our bus routes. Please look for the 2021-22 bus route schedule to be released in early July. We understand the burden this may cause some families, and we appreciate all you do to ensure your child attends school each day. If you have any questions, please call the Department of Transportation at 386-329-0553.
Sincerely,
Dr. Rick Surrency Superintendent
