As part of the Tools for Back to School partnership, officials from Publix and the United Way of St. Johns County present a check for $2,271.69 to the Putnam County School District during a checkpassing ceremony Tuesday inside the Palatka supermarket. The partnership has been ongoing since 2019, according to United Way official Kimberly Simon.
Dr. Rick Surrency, Superintendent shares, "The United Way and Publix continue to support our schools, and we are so thankful for their partnership."
Funds from this year's donation will be used to support teachers, students, and families through various outreach programs coordinated by the PCSD Department of Federal Programs.
