Jerimy Passmore recognized the Palatka Jr. Sr. High school Track and Field Teams State Qualifiers. PJSH has been a district champion for boys track for the last three out of four years.
PJSH Girls Track were district runner up with only 18 members in 2021. In 2022 PJSH girls are district champions for 2022. The only school in Putnam County to hold this title.
Track & field student athletes competed all season to receive awards of top 18 in the state of Florida in their events.
Our individual state qualifiers:
Al'leah Ford 300 meter hurdles finished in the top 16 for the state.
Johnathan Givens qualified for 110 hurdles and finished in the top ten overall.
Jaeshaun White qualified also for the 300 hurdles, he finished in the top ten overall.
Girls 4 x 100 relay team won eighth overall in the state of Florida: Khalia Wright, Jamya Douglas, Sa'miya Edwards.
Boys 4 x 400 Relay team won seventh overall in the state: Jaeshaun White, C'ontrae Clark, Hayden Newman.
Tommy Alford is the first eighth grader to compete in a state competition at PJSH.
Torance Pool was the fifth overall in discus. He is Putnam County's first, two time champion in shot put.
