The Putnam County School District held the first Community Partnership Celebration For Secondary College & Career Programs on February 10, 2022 at 6:00PM.
While the event was designed to appreciate the businesses, organizations, and individuals who support the five showcased programs, the real highlight of the evening was the students.
A beautifully decorated room greeted guests with the district's logo and colors of royal blue and apple green creating a fun atmosphere. There was even a balloon arch popular with social media posters.
The sound of the Interlachen Jr-Sr High School Band welcomed everyone as they entered the room and had people moving to the music.
The evening kicked off with a brief 'Welcome' from Jonathan Hinke, Putnam County School District's Executive Director of Strategic Initiatives. With the Support of The Education Foundation of Putnam, Business were given the opportunity to partake in Hors d'oeuvres prepared by the Culinary Arts Programs from Palatka Jr.-Sr. High School and Interlachen Jr.-Sr. High School. Everyone was raving about the crab cakes!
This event gave businesses the opportunity to visit College & Career Program Displays and interact with the students they support. Students were given the opportunity to Network, showcase their skills, and teach businesses how their support benefits them.
This was an opportunity for those who have donated to these programs to see their return on investment and interact with the students who are directly impacted.
The event was entirely student led including the Presentation of Colors by Palatka Jr-Sr High School JROTC, the Pledge of Allegiance, Singing of the National Anthem, and the Invocation by Putnam County Students.
The five students who spoke during the program were well prepared and shared with the audience how their teachers and programs have supported them in developing career skills and applying for college.
The evening was remarkable and we are so thankful for our Community Partners supporting the students in the Putnam County School District. Again we thank you and hope the night conveyed how much we appreciate your support!
