With all of the challenges going on in our country and in our world, our students sometimes have a difficult time coping. It is comforting to know that our school community is learning how to meet these unique challenges using the district wide Social Emotional Learning curriculum or SEL.
We began providing a SEL program to teachers three years ago, a year before the state mandated it, and the early impacts were evident.
When Students need additional support dealing with more challenging social or emotional issues every school has a school counselor available to provide help and guidance.
PCSD’s vision is to create a more socially aware school district and in turn as our students graduate and enter the workforce raise the compassion and acceptance of others in our communities.
