Model School

The Putnam County School District is proud to celebrate Putnam Academy of Arts and Sciences for being selected as a Model School at the esteemed 2025 Model Schools Conference in Washington, D.C., June 22-25. Hosted by the Center for Model Schools, this national event recognizes schools that lead the way in educational innovation, student achievement, and transformative practices.

Putnam Academy was chosen from a competitive pool of schools across the country for its dedication to student success and continuous improvement. Through a culture of collaboration, ambitious instruction, and a commitment to excellence, the school has achieved remarkable growth, particularly among struggling students.

"We are honored to be recognized as a Model School at MSC 2025," said Curtis Ellis, Principal of Putnam Academy. "Over the past two years, our students and teachers have made incredible strides. Bottom quartile students have improved by 168% in ELA and 156% in math, while ESE students have achieved a 371% increase. Their dedication and hard work deserve this prestigious recognition."

As part of this honor, Putnam Academy will present at the conference, sharing insights with over 5,000 educators on how to cultivate a school culture that meets the needs of all students.

The Putnam County School District commends Putnam Academy for this outstanding achievement and remains committed to supporting innovative educational practices that empower students across our community.
