Girls Who Soar

Sixth-grade girls from Putnam County School District recently participated in an inspiring event hosted by the STEM2 Hub. This unique experience, aptly named Girls Who Soar, is designed to ignite an interest in aerospace careers among young women, providing them with invaluable exposure to STEM opportunities.
Girls Who SoarDuring the event, the girls had the incredible chance to meet and hear from Mrs. Yeager, wife of the legendary pilot Chuck Yeager. Her stories and insights offered a personal glimpse into the world of aviation and aerospace, sparking curiosity and ambition in the students.

This is only the beginning of their journey. In an upcoming session, the girls will travel to NAS Jacksonville, where they’ll tour the flight hangars and explore more about the world of aviation and military technology.

At PCSD, we are committed to opening doors for our students and broadening their horizons through hands-on experiences and community partnerships. The Girls Who Soar initiative is a testament to our dedication to empowering students to dream big and explore limitless possibilities for their futures.

We’re proud to offer opportunities like this to our students and #ProudtobePCSD!
