The Putnam County School District recently held a highly successful District-wide Career Fair at Palatka Jr. Sr. High School, attracting a robust turnout of job seekers and community members. The event, which took place on June 12th from 1 to 4 PM, saw over 53 job seekers in attendance, resulting in the completion of 10 job applications and several on-site interviews.
Superintendent Rick Surrency expressed his gratitude to the community for their enthusiastic participation and support. "Are you ready to take the next step in your career? Come and explore the possibilities at our career fair!" he had invited, and the community responded in kind. Every school and department within the district with vacancies was represented, providing potential employees a comprehensive view of the opportunities available within the PCSD.
Adding a refreshing touch to the afternoon, the PCSD Human Resource department sponsored free lemonade for all participants, which was provided by Sassy's Lemonade.
Tonya Whitehurst, PCSD's Human Resource Executive Director, remarked on the event's success, saying, "It was very exciting and encouraging to interact with so many community members exploring the possibility of joining the PCSD family. With such a great outpouring of support, we look forward to this becoming an annual event."
