Find Your Zoned School

Your zoned school is the school assigned to your child based on your home address and school attendance boundaries.

Disclaimer: All school attendance boundaries are subject to change by School Board action. Maps and descriptions are provided for convenience only.

If you wish for your child to attend their zoned school, simply register directly with that school—no additional steps are needed.

Applying to a School of Choice

For families interested in School Choice options, including Putnam Virtual, Cambridge, Career and Technical Education (CTE), and Dual Enrollment, applications must be submitted during open application periods. All applications are subject to a selection process, with acceptance based on available space and program-specific criteria.

Controlled Open Enrollment; March 1st through July 1st

PCSD also offers a Controlled Open Enrollment Period, March 1st through July 1st, which allows students the opportunity to attend a school other than their zoned school, depending on space availability (see class average's below). Parents/guardians interested in applying during Controlled Open Enrollment may pick up an application at any school in the District. Applications are processed in the order they are received, but decisions may not be available until after the tenth day of the school year.

Students residing in Putnam County will be given priority, while all others will depend on space availability in the requested grade level, class, or program. Until a decision is made, students must remain in their zoned school.

If accepted, parents/guardians will be notified and will be responsible for their child’s transportation. Annual reapplication is not necessary as long as the student remains enrolled in the same school; however, students must reapply when transitioning from elementary to middle school or middle to high school.

The numbers represent the average number of students in each grade group (PK-3, 4-8, 9-12). If a number is highlighted in red, the grade group has reached capacity and cannot accept additional students.

Controlled Open Enrollment Application

Applications must be submitted at the requested school site for the following school year between March 1 and July 1. Decisions on transfer requests are determined based on class size capacity limitations and may not be available until after the first ten days of school. Students attending through approved controlled open enrollment waivers are permitted to attend the school of assignment from year to year. New applications will only be needed when progressing from one school to another (ex. elementary to middle school). Students must remain in their zoned school pending the decision.
