In 2024, the Putnam County School District once again earned accreditation, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement across all schools.
Cognia Accreditation guided our school district through an evaluation process examining our vision, strategies, priorities, leadership, programs, and resources. Accreditation is designed to help educational systems boost ongoing performance efforts by evaluating the system’s ability to meet the needs of all learners.
Throughout the 2023-24 school year, PCSD collected evidence and data aligned with Cognia’s performance standards and rubrics in preparation for the accreditation engagement review that began in February 2024. Stakeholder feedback, student performance, and learning environment data were analyzed as part of the process.
Accreditation Engagement Review Highlights
Our district’s 2024 Index of Education Quality (IEQ) institutional score was 335 out of 400, well above Cognia’s IEQ Network Average of 253.
A noteworthy practice identified by Cognia’s evaluators was the skills and insight of leaders in considering various information to address student needs and develop appropriate strategies and interventions to ensure learners’ success.
Our 2024 accreditation review marks a highpoint in our district’s improvement journey over the past ten years. In 2014, our district’s accreditation IEQ score was 190 out of 400 and in 2018 the score was 290. The 2024 IEQ score of 335 demonstrates our district’s commitment to improving education quality and developing sustainability over time.
