PCSD Cambridge & Acceleration Opportunities

Putnam County Public Schools provide a wide range of acceleration opportunities to support and challenge our students.

Each of our area high schools offers advanced options, including Honors Programs, Cambridge Programs, Advanced Placement (AP) courses, and Dual Enrollment classes.

Honors Programs and Cambridge Programs are available at the elementary level, ensuring pathways for academic enrichment from an early age.

What is Cambridge?

The Cambridge Program at PCSD, in collaboration with Cambridge International, provides an education that fosters students' knowledge, understanding, and skills to succeed in a dynamic world. As part of the University of Cambridge, Cambridge International offers a globally respected, flexible framework for students, grounded in research and educator feedback.

Our Cambridge schools at PCSD empower learners through recognized qualifications, high-quality resources, and extensive support. This foundation helps prepare students for future opportunities and challenges, instilling the confidence they need to make a meaningful impact. PCSD Elementary Cambridge Programs

The Cambridge Program (also known as AICE) is recognized by the State of Florida as one of the most prestigious and rigorous academic pathways available in public education. At the elementary level, the Cambridge Program is offered at the following schools:

  • James A. Long Elementary School

  • Kelley Smith Elementary School

  • Middleton-Burney Elementary School

  • Robert H. Jenkins Jr. Elementary School

These programs provide young students with a strong foundation in advanced academics from an early age.

PCSD Secondary Cambridge Programs

The Cambridge Program (also known as AICE) is recognized by the State of Florida as one of the most prestigious and rigorous academic pathways in public education. At the secondary level, the Cambridge Program is available at the following schools:

  • Q.I. Roberts Jr.-Sr. High School

  • Crescent City Jr.-Sr. High School

  • Interlachen Jr.-Sr. High School (select AICE offerings)

  • Palatka Jr.-Sr. High School (select AICE offerings)

Q.I. Roberts and Crescent City offer a full range of Cambridge courses, while Interlachen and Palatka provide select AICE options, giving students across our district the opportunity for advanced academic achievement.

Meeting the basic eligibility requirements for the Acceleration Program does not guarantee admission. Acceptance is based on student data and program availability. By signing below, you authorize screening for gifted and talented qualifications. The decision of the Selection Committee is final. Upon acceptance, you also authorize the PCSD data department to withdraw your student from the zoned school and enroll them in the selected Cambridge school.
