Every thriving arts program begins with someone willing to imagine what doesn’t exist yet — and at Q.I. Roberts, that vision is becoming a new tradition.
For years, drama has been part of the Q.I. Roberts experience, with dedicated teachers introducing students to the stage through productions such as Disorder in the Court and Million Dollar Meatballs. Now, the school is entering an exciting new chapter: for the first time in school history, Q.I. Roberts is presenting a complete Knights Theater Season.
The program began rebuilding three years ago by introducing students to professionally licensed plays performed on stages across the country. After Almost, Maine, the Broadway hit The Play That Goes Wrong, and last year’s Clue: On Stage, students are continuing that tradition this season with two enduring American classics: Steel Magnolias (February 20–23, 2027) and Our Town (April 12–13, 2027).
As a Cambridge International School, Q.I. Roberts challenges students to think critically, communicate effectively, collaborate, and engage deeply with literature and the human experience. Theater brings those skills to life.
Students aren’t simply memorizing lines. They are analyzing complex texts, exploring character motivation, solving problems creatively, speaking with confidence, taking risks, and learning what it means to work together as an ensemble.
And the impact of the arts reaches far beyond the stage.
Some students may pursue careers in the arts. Others may become engineers, teachers, nurses, military leaders, business owners, physicians, and more. But every student can carry forward the confidence, empathy, discipline, creativity, resilience, and collaboration developed through meaningful arts experiences.
This Arts in Education Week, we’re proud to celebrate programs like Knights Theater that remind us that academic excellence and artistic excellence belong together.
