Putnam County Public Schools offers many acceleration opportunities for students. Each of our area middle and high schools offers options to challenge students including Honors Programs, Cambridge Programs, AP classes and Dual Enrollment classes. Honors and Cambridge Programs are available at the elementary level as well. The school district is in the process of adding additional programs as needs arise in order to instructionally cater to our students.

Honors classes are available at the following schools: Middleton Burney Elementary School, Melrose Elementary School, Jenkins Middle School, and Price Middle School.
The Cambridge Program (also known as AICE) is recognized by the State of Florida as the highest esteemed, most rigorous available public school program for K-12th grade students.The Cambridge Program is housed at the following schools: James A. Long Elementary School, Interlachen Elementary School, C.L.Overturf 6th Grade Center, and Q.I. Roberts Jr.-Sr. High School. Miller Middle School and Crescent City High School are in the process of applying to be additional Cambridge sites.
