IHS Class of 2016 Turns Their Tassels

More than 150 Rams Graduate from IHS

Storm clouds threatened but ultimately held off raining on Interlachen High School’s Class of 2016 graduation ceremony Tuesday.

Graduates Rico Thomas led the Pledge of Allegiance and Rachel Johnson gave the Invocation.

In his welcome, Principal Thomas Bolling told the class of 2016 that they were definitely his favorite class.

Superintendent Phyllis Criswell spoke of how technology has changed and will continue to change the graduates’ lives and the way they communicate.

Palatka Mayor Terrill Hill spoke of the hardships he experienced growing up, but credited his parents with encouraging him to overcome them to be successful and encouraged the graduates to do the same.

Zachary Eason, class president, spoke of what the class had learned from specific teachers and staff at the school.

Drew Wilburn, Top Scholar of Putnam County Schools, spoke of her experiences travelling the world. She implored her classmates to travel and broaden their horizons, then come back and contribute to their hometown community.
