Price Middle School students and staff buried a new time capsule at the school this month along with the one they unearthed at the school last year.

In February 2015, a time capsule that was buried at the school in 1988 was unearthed. The contents of that time capsule were on display at the school since it was recovered.

Students and staff collected items for the new time capsule during this school year. Both it and the 1988 time capsule are to be unearthed in 25 years in 2041.

Also at the event, students and staff dedicated the memorial walkway installed earlier this year. The school’s student council sold personalized pavers as their major fundraiser to make the walkway a tribute to past and present teachers and students at the school.

The Pineland Masonic Lodge of Palatka also donated a new flag for the school when the time capsules were buried.

Rotary of Interlachen and the Lakes Area held an auction at the school that morning to raise funds for academic scholarships for Interlachen High School students.
