Message from the Superintendent
"I would like to start off this video by saying thank you. Thank you to our community, our staff, our parents, and our students for the understanding and support over the past weeks while the District transitions to ‘Online and Home Learning’. This has been a tremendous feat and everyone has worked diligently to make it possible for our students to get back to learning and our teachers back to teaching.
Online and Home Learning begins on Monday, March 30th. I can not stress enough that your child has not fallen behind. It seems like students have missed a lot of school but really they have only missed four days of instruction. We have had many questions about events and trips. I can tell you that no field trips will be authorized in the month of April. We will continue to follow CDC guidelines when making decisions for events in May, which would include graduation ceremonies and prom.
Parents, over the next few days your child’s teacher or school will be reaching out to you to check in. This may include sites for school feeding, chromebook pickup and technology needs. If you have not been receiving communication via text, phone, or email please call your child’s school to ensure that the contact information in our student system is updated and correct.
You can call your child’s school during the new district and school hours which are Monday-Friday from 8:00AM to 4:00PM.
The District website will be updating regularly over the next few days with a new home learning website with resources for parents and students. Links to learning platforms, tutorials, internet resources like “how to use hot spots” and “internetessentials.com” (which is offering internet for $9.95) will all be listed.
