Some Moseley Elementary School students are hoping that the kindness they are spreading catches on and spreads throughout the school and community.
Guidance Counselor Amy Bishop started a Kind Kids Club with a group of third graders who were nominated for membership by their teachers for having good behavior.
The Kind Kids Club meets during their lunch period to plan and carry out acts of kindness.
Club members have read stories to the pre-kindergarten classes. They also made bookmarks with kind messages on them and hid them in library books.
They have given out candy “hugs” to all of the teachers, picked up trash around the school property, and last month made Christmas cards for nursing home residents.
As the group has met and performed acts of kindness, they have learned that when they spread kindness, it makes them feel good inside too.
